The Montessori Children’s House of Hyde Park Scholarship Fund

“Whoever touches the life of a child touches the most sensitive part of a whole which has roots in the most distant past and climbs toward the infinite future.”
-Dr. Maria Montessori

Maria Montessori’s first classroom was in the San Lorenzo district of Italy - what would today be known as “the projects”. Through education, she brought the world to these very poor children. To the world she proved that any child, even in the worst of circumstances, has the potential to contribute to the world.

The Montessori Children’s House of Hyde Park Scholarship Fund is a non-profit organization that provides scholarships to disadvantaged children who would never have the opportunity to attend a Montessori school, and grants to families who have been in our school for at least one year who need financial assistance to keep their child in the Montessori environment.

Our Scholarship Fund has partnered with Alpha House. We offer scholarships, for nine years of education, to the children of their clients. Since the 1980’s Alpha House has endeavored to keep young, pregnant girls in school and encourage their future education. We are convinced that early education of their children will promote an attitude, for mother and child, that knowledge can positively change their futures.

In it’s continuing effort to maintain the Montessori philosophy of promoting cultural and economic diversity in their school, the Montessori Children’s House of Hyde Park has agreed to facilitate this relationship between the Scholarship Fund and Alpha House by providing available space for the scholarship recipients.

The Scholarship Fund hosts the annual At Your Service Celebrity Dinner and also depends on donations to provide the necessary funding for the scholarships and grants.

We appreciate your belief in the importance of educating our children and your interest in this important project. We are truly grateful for your support! Please feel free to call for more information.
